Why It Matters

Immersive content is becoming increasingly valuable across streaming, live events, training, and digital experiences. Yet VR footage is still largely confined to headset users, making it difficult to distribute through traditional video channels.
Organizations have invested heavily in creating high-quality VR content, but much of that investment remains locked behind a limited distribution model. VR videos typically require specialized headsets, rely on dedicated VR players, and aren’t compatible with the broader video ecosystem. Qencode removes these barriers by automatically extracting a clean, distortion-free monoscopic view from headset-specific VR sources, transforming immersive footage into production-ready standard video formats that can be published anywhere.

How It Works

Platforms submit VR-formatted source files to Qencode, which detects the stereoscopic layout and projection type, extracts a front-facing flat perspective, and generates a standard monoscopic video output. Because the output resolution adjusts automatically based on the extracted field of view, teams do not need to precalculate it themselves.
The resulting video can be previewed across existing video workflows, enabling teams to repurpose immersive content for websites, social media and marketing campaigns.
